Welcome to TopiaTeam BV. We are providing TypeTopia. Of course we are registered with the Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands ( You can find us under number 30077284.

When you get started with TypeTopia, you do not want us to be negligent with your personal data. And you are right. We would not want that either.

That is why we think it is important that you know what personal data we collect and why we do so. We need your permission to do this. You can read all about it in this privacy statement. What do we want to know about you?

First and last name We would like to address you with your own name.
Address and place of residence Of course, the postman needs to know the way to your home to deliver the BlackBox or the typing diploma.
Gender We would like to use the correct way to address you.
Country Do you know the difference between Azerty and Qwerty? The keyboard layout is not the same in every country. If we do not know which keyboard layout you are using, we cannot provide the right course. It is also convenient for sending the BlackBox and the typing diploma (see address and city).
IP address Using your IP address, we know, among other things, directly from which region you come. This way we can offer you immediately the right translation of our website.
Email address Your email address is also your username to login to TypeTopia. In addition, we use your email address to stay in touch with you about the progress of the course, to answer your questions and occasionally ask you to take part in a research/campaign. Do you not prefer to receive emails about your progress, our research and campaigns? Of course we understand. You can easily indicate this in your account. How to do this, you can read under How can I request, modify or delete my personal data?
Phone number You can enter your phone number in your details. This is not mandatory. We will only use your phone number to call you back if you have contacted us. We will never call you without good reason.
Payment details In order to be able to pay your order, we use a secure payment environment. If you pay through iDeal or transaction, your details will be saved in our administration to link the payment to your order. Furthermore, we only use your bank account number when you get a refund. Promised. When you pay with credit card, we send your details, from our secure environment, directly to They perform our credit card payments. With this, we will not see your credit card details, only tells us if the payment succeeded.
Date of birth Because the typing diploma is an official diploma, we will indicate the date of birth of the student, among other details. Then, of course, we need to know your date of birth. We will also be happy to send you a nice surprise on your birthday.
Place of birth The place of birth is also mentioned on the typing diploma. We do not use it for anything else.

For what purposes do we use your data?

  1. We use your data in order to guarantee the execution of the agreement, among other things. Simply put: because you order a typing course from us, we need certain personal information to:
    • - check whether the payment has been made correctly (payment details)
    • - print the diploma (name, date of birth, place of birth)
    • - be able to create the account (email address, name)
    • - send the BlindBox and the diploma (name, address, city).
    Unfortunately, we cannot start an agreement without your details, because we cannot deliver the necessary items. Do you not want TopiaTeam to process your data? Unfortunately, it is not possible to buy our products.
  2. We use your data to inform you by email about the progress of the typing course and to be able to answer your service tickets. To do this, we use your name, email address, gender and country. If you do not want us to use your information for this purpose, we cannot, unfortunately, start an agreement with you.
  3. We use your data to send you an occasional research or marketing email. This enables us to develop and improve our products and services further. As soon as you agree to our privacy statement, you agree to receive these emails. If you do not want to receive emails? Of course that is no problem. You can modify the settings in your account easily by unchecking the email preferences. Of course you can change this permanently.
  4. We use your data to analyse the use of our website. We do this with the so-called Google Analytics cookies. Because we believe that these analyses should never be traced back to you, we have set up the special privacy mode on Google Analytics. In concrete terms, this means that we:
    • - have a processor agreement with Google;
    • - disable the last octet of the IP address;
    • - have turned off 'data sharing';
    • - do not use any other Google services in combination with the Google Analytics cookies.

How long do we store your personal data?

In order to be of service to you, we must store your personal data on our servers. Of course, we do not store them for an unnecessarily long time. We make a distinction in:

Duration of storage of active accounts

As long as you are working on a TypeTopia course, we will store your personal data in our systems. As soon as you have completed the course or cancel the course, we will keep your personal data in our systems for six months. We do this because you may still have questions for us after you have completed or cancelled the course. For example, a question about a payment. This way we can help you well for another six months. After these six months, we anonymise your data and it can never be traced back to you. We can therefore no longer retrieve your account.

Are you registered for our research and marketing emails? We will then store your personal data until you indicate that you do not want to receive these emails. We will not send you any more research or marketing emails. After completion of the course, we will keep the data for six more months. In that period, you can still receive research or marketing emails, unless you have deregistered.

Duration of storage of inactive accounts

As soon as your (trial) account has been inactive for six months, we will delete your account and anonymise your personal data. This means that your account is no longer accessible for both of us. Of course, we do not without good reason. We will send you two warning emails: two months and ten days before the date of its removal. In this email we will let you know that we intend to delete your account. You will also read what you can do to prevent this from happening.

There is an exception: a parent account that is linked to a participant account. Is the participant still active, but is the parent account no longer used? In that case, the parental account will only be deleted after the participant has completed or cancelled the course. In this case, the personal data will be anonymised as soon as the account has been deleted.

How can I view, change, transfer or delete my personal data?

As a TypeTopia user, you have the right to view, change or delete your personal information at any time and at every time. After all, these are your data.

Inspection and changing personal data

Most of the personal information we collect from you can always be viewed in your account. To do this, login with your email address and password, click on your name in the top right and then click on my details. Here you can immediately see your personal details and you can also change them directly. The personal details that you cannot find in your account are: your payment details and your IP address. Transfer of personal data

As a user, you have the right to transfer your personal data. This means that you must be able to easily retrieve your data and pass it on to another party. Of course this is possible. To do so, please send an email to Then we will make sure that you receive your personal details clearly outlined in an Excel file within two working days.

Delete personal data

As a user, you have the possibility to delete all your personal data at once. To do this, login with your email address and password. Then click on your name and my details in the top right. At the bottom of the page you will find the button delete my data. When you click on it, a pop-up screen appears asking if you really want to delete your data. If you click yes, all your personal data will be deleted. NOTE: this is irreversible, we will not be able to restore your personal data!

Who has access to your personal data?

We will only pass on your data to other parties if this is really necessary for our services. These are the parties involved: delivery partners, payment partners, IT service providers and parties who collect our reviews. Our delivery partner must be able to deliver the BlackBox and the typing diploma to the right address. In suspicious situations, we are required to share customer information with government agencies. Hopefully you will understand this.

The parties who get access to your information may only use it to provide you with a service on behalf of TypeTopia. Unless they are responsible for obtaining and protecting your data. We never sell your data to third parties.

Where do we store your data?

We store your data in various databases. We always have strict security measures. No place like home: that's why your data is almost always stored within the European Union. In the exceptional event that customer data is transferred to countries outside the European Union, we will ensure that your privacy is adequately protected. This has been officially established for a number of countries. Some U.S. parties have registered under the Privacy Shield, which provides adequate protection.
